Well-known blogger and press freedom defender Mehman Huseynov, jailed in Azerbaijan since March 2017, has been on hunger strike for nearly 2 weeks. He protests against new bogus charges carrying a potential additional 7-year jail sentence. What is France’s reaction to this?
Answering to this question official representative of MFA of Farnce said today:
“We are concerned by the situation of journalist and human rights defender Mehman Huseynov.
We are following the situation, in particular his detention conditions, with utmost attention.
We hope that the new criminal charges pressed against Mehman Huseynov will be abandoned and that he will be released soon”.
